BPS Ford 6.2 Boss VCT Lockouts
Usage réservé à la course, non homologué pour la route.
CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum VCT lockouts for the Ford 6.2L Boss V8. Sold as a pair, one per bank. Hardware is optional — select it above or source your own.
Features:
- CNC machined 6061-T6
- Black anodized finish
- Slotted outer bolt holes for adjustable cam timing — degree the cam where you want it, no offset keys or dowels required
- Solid, fixed drive — no internal moving parts, no phaser to fail
- Retains the factory sprocket, so chain and drive geometry stay stock
Why lock the cams on a Boss
The 6.2 Boss is a SOHC two-valve with dual-equal variable cam timing: one phaser per bank, moving intake and exhaust events together through cam torque actuation. That phaser is a wear item. Worn units rattle on start-up, drift off commanded position and set P0016 / P0019 style correlation codes, and on a built or boosted engine the added spring pressure and valvetrain load only shortens their life. Replacing the phaser internals with a solid billet lockout removes the failure point, fixes the cam at a known centreline, and takes one variable out of the tune.
Applications:
- 2010-2014 F-150, including SVT Raptor and Harley-Davidson
- 2011-2022 F-250 / F-350 Super Duty
- 2017-2019 E-Series
Optional Hardware
Enough to do both banks:
- 12 ARP outer bolts (6 per lockout)
- 6 grade 12.9 twelve-point centre bolts (3 per lockout)
Notes
- Tuning is required. VCT has to be commanded off or the strategy disabled once the cams are fixed, whether you are running the factory PCM or a standalone ECU.
- Cam timing should be verified and degreed after installation — a lockout puts the cam where you set it, not where the phaser used to move it.
- Off-road / race use.
