Boost Control

Boost control on a turbo car comes down to how fast and how accurately you can put pressure on top of the wastegate diaphragm, and how repeatable that is run to run. Spring pressure sets the floor. Everything above it comes from the controller.

Most serious drag cars do it with CO2 or onboard air instead of boost pressure, because a bottle gives you full dome pressure the instant the ECU asks for it, at any RPM, rather than waiting on the turbo to make the pressure it is supposed to be controlling. That is what a dual solenoid block is for. One solenoid fills the dome, one bleeds it, and the ECU works both against a target.

Everything a CO2 setup needs is here. The BPS High Flow Dual Solenoid Boost Controller is the block itself, with measured response times published across the full voltage range. The 2.5lb bottle and dual gauge regulator feeds it. The Backpressure Dampening Canister protects the dome and backpressure sensors that tell the ECU what is actually happening, which is the part most people skip until a sensor fails high and the ECU cuts CO2 in the middle of a run.
